The Society of Camera Operators (SOC) is thrilled to announce the return of its annual art exhibition, this year titled Capturing the Spirit: Evocative Moments on Screen. This unique showcase will be featured during the SOC Awards Show weekend, February 14-15, 2025, at Loews Hollywood Hotel in Hollywood, CA, offering attendees an exclusive opportunity to view and acquire one-of-a-kind works by renowned photographers and past SOC Lifetime Achievement Award Honorees: Phillip V. Caruso, Murray Close, Francois Duhamel and Ralph Nelson.

Following an incredible response to its debut last year, the SOC is pleased to bring back this exclusive exhibition, on view both Friday and Saturday evenings. Made possible in part through the generous support of FUJIFILM North America Corporation (Fujifilm), the collection features iconic photographs capturing a broad spectrum of unforgettable moments on screen. Concepted and developed in collaboration with FUJIFILM, this showcase continues its mission to elevate the artistry of still photography and celebrate the powerful imagery that defines the world of entertainment.

“We are honored to once again partner with Fujifilm to bring this unique exhibition to life,” said Matthew Moriarty, President of the Society of Camera Operators. “These extraordinary works not only showcase the very dedication and skill we honor each year at the SOC Awards, but also provide a unique opportunity for enthusiasts to own a piece of cinematic history.”

FUJIFILM North America Corporation’s Vice President of Electronic Imaging & Optical Devices Divisions, Victor Ha, expressed excitement about the continuing collaboration, stating, “Being on the heels of announcing the development of Fujifilm’s first digital filmmaking camera, we are particularly inspired to contribute to an initiative that not only celebrates the compelling art of visual storytelling, but also underscores our unwavering commitment to supporting all types of camera operators. This year’s collection of photographs embody the spirit of artistry and evocative storytelling that is cultivated within the film industry.”

On display both Friday, February 14, and Saturday, February 15, the awards weekend will culminate with a silent auction of framed works from the exhibition during the SOC Awards, with proceeds supporting the SOC’s commitment to The Vision Center at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
